Rum Kitchen x The Social Social Club

tune in to IGTV

We’re excited to announce the launch of our first ever IGTV content segment, THE SOCIAL SOCIAL CLUB in partnership with The Beat London radio presenter, Başak Erten. Each episode involves mixology, rum, cocktails and great conversation direct from our Brixton restaurant with RK bartender Sam.

It’s said that the flavours found in a rum represent the smells and tastes that you would find on the Island. Anyone that has a visited an Island and drank rum there will always have that as their favourite back at home because of the memories it brings back.

Rum was never seen as a high end spirit and was only given an opportunity because of prohibition and the rye shortage after the war. These events allowed the classics like the Daiquiri, the Hurricane and the Mai Tai all to come into fashion thankfully. All of which are featured on the show.

From the famous Ting Wray, to the popular Kingston Spritz, you can learn everything you need to know in order to become a drink pro from the comfort of your own home. It doesn’t just stop there though. Başak will also be interviewing some of your favourite artists and musicians from behind the Brixton cocktail bar!

Keep your eyes peeled as we unveil this exciting series in two parts every week, across Instagram from June. Expect lots of laughs, rum and energy as both the drinks, and the conversations flow and flow… and flow! Watch the first episode of the Social Social club here.
